Week 48 - Orangewood Nazarene Church
Awesome!!!!!!! We were really blessed!
We started praying for this event in June. As the event drew closer, the Lord had us doing more things to prepare?seven consecutive days of anointing the altars in the sanctuary--confessing and repenting for the sins of the church, prayer sessions specifically targeting 24/7 prayer, and listening to see exactly how He wanted the room to be set up. The Lord was amazing in the way He provided people to help and gave wisdom and inspiration to each person He called to assist. He selected people who had a passion in the area he had them serving. The whole room came together with great ease!
The interesting thing is that the room took on a personality of its own. When we opened the door for prayer, the presence of the Lord came in. The Wednesday night before we started, I was in the room setting up. One of our teachers brought in her 5th/6th grade girls to pray. When the girls were asked how the room felt to them, one of the girls said it felt "holy." As the week progressed, the presence of the Lord became very thick. Many people reported that they began to weep as soon as they entered the room and wept the whole time they were there. Some were not able to get up off of the floor, some of the people were very moved by the atmosphere of the room, but had no words to express their feelings?they just knew that they did not want the prayer room to be dismantled when our week was over. What the Lord seemed to impress upon many of our praying people, was that they didn't need to worry about praying for each of the stations, He just wanted to spend time alone with each one of them and let them know how much He loved them. This was a time that we as a church body so needed. We are just coming out of a very rough season that has lasted for a few years, and we so needed to just feel his love?individually and as a group. This time was so healing for us!!! |
