What an amazing year 2008 was. We saw the launch of what we thought was a one year prayer initiative, only to have it explode and be prophesied that it would become a model to the nation!
Pete Greig, author of Red Moon Rising and one of the leaders of the 24-7 Prayer Movement spoke at Prayer Quake in June, 2008. Of AZPray he said, "It was remarkable when it started but something happened in the middle and it started to accelerate, even those that didn't believe will say that something happened there that they attribute to Jesus Christ." He also shared that he had gotten a vision of a ball being pushed up a mountain and when it reached the top it started to roll down the other side and it accelerated and gained momentum. We are truly starting to see this happen. |

| In January, 2008 in front of 2,000 people the "Torch" was passed to 7 churches in Tucson at the "Start the Year off Right" Conference with Dutch Sheets and Chuck Pierce. Dutch stated that there was an incredible anointing of the Lord on AZPray and not to let the torch go out. Chuck exhorted us to "follow the fire" around the state. |

In 25 years of ministry, the week of 24/7 prayer is one of the most significant things I have personally participated in. It impacted our church in many ways including raising the level of faith and building community to a new level. Since the very first time I heard about AZ Prayer my spirit leaped with anticipation of being a part of it. To my delight my Pastor also had a heart for it. Being a small church it was a little overwhelming, however, our slots were completely filled before we even finished the torch passing on that first Friday night. We prayed, fasted and prepared the house of the Lord for Him to come and dwell among us, and He showed up well beyond our expectation. He captivated our entire congregation as we found our Pastor and ourselves coming into the house of the Lord and experiencing His Glory and staying for hours that turned into days. Hosting the 24-7 Prayer Torch was an incredible experience for the entire congregation of Skyway Church. We found a tangible presence of God meeting with people in the auditorium while the congregation came to seek the Lord during our week. Many expressed their desire to keep the meetings going! It also allowed those with the spiritual gift of intercession to identify their gift and calling through this practical experience.
